Soprano Ermonela Jaho has recorded Puccini’s first opera Le Willis for Opera Rara and will be appearing as Desdemona in Verdi’s Otello at the Royal Opera House in December, so it seems like the perfect time for Gramophone's Editor-in-Chief James Jolly to discuss her unique take on Puccini’s supernatural melodrama, and to explore the joys and challenges of life as an international opera singer. Jaho will sing a live extract from Le Willis and the event will be followed by a Q&A and album signing.
